 Worked with all facets of the counter improvised explosive devices (CIED). From Test plat forms and first time installs on various vehicle mounts. As well as basic troubleshooting and repairs. Trained over 3000 military personnel on operation and purpose of system. Was responsible for all parts tracking and daily reports for camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan for last 16 months of employment. Was the point of contact for customer 24 7 repair and concerns. Repaired over 5500 systems and installed over 800 vehicles. The job was great and rewarding because I saved lives and would still be there if I could stay away from family any longer. After 40 months I chose to come home. Received both letters of appreciation and military coins from my customers due to the effort and willingness to get the job done. Proud to serve our men and women of service. This job gives me knowledge and experience in the build of all current field assets. This also shows that I can work on all these platforms safely and efficiently. These installs are electrical and mechanical aspects involved with up armored assets.

Joined the navy in May of 1999 completed basic training in July of 1999. Went to Tech core to learn basic electronic theory, components, ac/dc circuitry and power in electronics. Attended A school to learn principals of communication and radar theory as well as equipment involved in communication and radar. Learned troubleshooting to the component level on said equipment.
I Pre commissioned DDG 81 for my first duty station. Was a part of installation and systems operation verification tests of most of the communication equipment on board. The ship did shock trials in Mayport Florida and had over 1100 hours of preventative maintenance and system alignment checks after each of the 3 shocks. Installed a British naval chart display onboard with nothing more than technical documents and received a Navy Achievement Award for my efforts. Completed My surface warfare pin and also was appointed to Combat Systems Officer of the Watch. I was also the command general purpose electronic test equipment manager. I was responsible for maintenance and calibration of over 450 pieces of test equipment. I was the Work center supervisor of the 2M repair shop. I did component level repair of all types circuit boards from the gas turbines to the radar systems. While onboard I did a total cost savings of just over 800000 dollars using the navy's 2m system. I completed 3 C schools and 3 fleet tactical training and repair center schools as well. The 3 C schools are AN/USC-38 EHF satellite communications system, Data link pipe line link 11 , 4, 4a, 16, and 2M micro miniature repair technician. The 3 non NEC schools where antenna maintenance, Inmarsat satellite communication technician and an/wsc-3 maintainer which is uhf line of sight satellite radio.
In Feb of 2004 I left the ship and attended Information Systems Maintainer course reroute to Naval Computer Telecommunication Area Master Station Atlantic Fleet. In the course there all Lan Wan systems desk tops and supporting equipment to include uninterrupted power supplies and modems for satellite communications, generic front end computer processors, link converters, fiber optics repairs data hubs and advanced technical information support systems. Knowledge of advanced video switching and asynchronous transfer mode and processes working in windows NT. UNIX, Cisco INTERNETWORKING operational test checks. At NCTAMS Lant I worked my way to watch section supervisor. We worked rotating watched to provide 365 24/7 coverage. I as a supervisor was responsible for the maintenance and repair of DAMA systems, Network Systems, EHF systems, Verdin Systems, associated crypto, UPS, Switching, Fleet Sat Highcom and interconnectivity. Watch section training and documentation of maintenance and trouble calls. Attended industrial supervisor safety training annually.
